First Aid in the Wilderness.

When youre only one day into Willmore you're at the very least several hours if not days from professional medical help, thus you are taking a risk in travelling in Willmore.

Bring a first aid kit. I

Hike with some people who have had a wilderness first aid course. This isn't the same as most first aid courses which focus on heart attacks, drowning, strokes, etc. In willmore you're dealing with cuts, burns, breaks.

At the least,You will do well to read up on common wilderness first aid issues which ai include:
Stings/Bites/Alergic reactions
Breaks:
Burns
Cuts
Sprains
Heat Stroke/Exhaustion

Be aware that people suffering strokes or heart attacks or any other major problem are going to have trouble getting out in time for medical help. While CPR is the fashion in first aid courses, some manuals say that if the paramedics aren't with the person within 15 or so minutes, the outcomes aren't likely to be good.

Medical Evacuation: It's best to carry a gps satellite communication device for emergency contact and know how to use it

Insurance: It's expensive to be evacuated via helicopter. Get in insurance. Your health care plan may not include it.
