Everywhere, the Anasazi left pictographs [images painted on the rock walls] and petroglpyhs [images chipped into the rock walls]. These handprints, found in a branch of Salt Wash in the Needles District, were made by the Anasazi blowing a wet white power over their hands. While it is tempting to place ones hand against these impressions, the oils and acids from our hands would ruin these fragile reminders of the Anasazi civilization.
