Chaco Canyon was thought to be the geographical center of a complex society. At the opposite end of the Anasazi society were the people who inhabited the more remote regions of the Anasazi domain. These small storage bins which were used to protect the corn crop are found in the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park--several hundred straight miles from Chaco.
