Haiga is a traditional Japanese art form composed of brush painting and caligraphy of haiku poetry.

This web site contains images of the modern English haiga school where the image may be a digital image, a graphic image, a painting, a photograph.

The entry page Image is a digital modification of The Great Wave at Kanagawa (from a Series of Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji), Edo period (1615Ü1868), ca. 1831Ü33 by Katsushika Hokusai (Japanese, 1760Ü1849), and is part of the H. O. Havemeyer Collection at the Metropolitian Museum of Art. The digital image was made from a scan of a print of the image.
