Evening Light

The shadow shows you that this shot was taken towards dark. The best light for photography is in the evening, the last hour or so of light. During the day, the overhead sun flattens the landscape and makes detail difficult to discern through squinting eyes. The detail in this wood and sandstone would not be possible to photograph during the day unless it was overcast.
