Detail of Harvest Scene, Maze District, Canyonlands

It's anyone's guess what the various artworks mean. I like to guess that this one is a creation myth showing the animals entering the world on the arm of a human-god with a tree as a middle finger. The humpbacked figure in the center is one that occurs frequently in Anasazi rock art -- kokopelli, the flute player.
